Second day of fashion shows at MBFWM

Maya Hansen opened the second day of fashion shows on the runway of MBFWM. The designer returns to the Madrid fashion week after her recent motherhood, which has served as inspiration to create a collection that makes an introspective exercise. The illustrations of the gynaecologist William Hunter are printed in her designs, amongst which the corset stands out again as undisputed leader of her proposals. The waist of the woman is the permanent protagonist in a collection worked on high-density tissue in contrast to the lingerie essence of lace and tulle.

Moisés Nieto takes us to back to the 70s through a collection inspired by icons like Bianca Jagger and the legendary Studio 54. For the daytime proposals the bomber jacket and the trench become indispensable pieces. Soft colours that contrast with the golden sparkles in lamé and lurex tassels recreate a renewed disco aesthetic in shining night looks.

Provence and the Riviera are the destination of the voyage proposed by Ailanto. Prints of boats, geometrical waves and camellias decorate garments with squared volumes and oversize silhouettes. Parkas and jumpsuits are the key to a collection of vibrant colours in contrast with dusty tones. Metallic glitter slips into the evening looks of the Muñoz brothers, who propose a play of overlapping garments.

Roberto Torretta brings together craftsmanship and modernity in a collection of renewed airs. Asymmetric and triangular patterns become the main novelty of a proposal where cotton, silk and jacquard coexist with his ever-present leather. The night of Torretta is full of satins tinted in green and blue tones for fluid and stylized silhouettes garments.

Etxeberria presents his proposals for men and women. The Basque designer creates for the fist time a feminine collection that results in a proposal full of sensuality and far away from his usual androgyny. Always surprising Exteberria shows a collection entirely made of leather, a material that is transformed into vigorous and contemporary pieces.

Teresa Helbig proposes a game between two sisters. Soeurs is a collection that blends the rustic elegance of Provence with Parisian chic. Two opposite women but with something in common: their love for detail and sophistication. Raffia and rope transform into impeccable pieces made meticulously. Nobuck pink, crystals and sequins dominate her looks for the night. Contained luxury for a flirtatious and elegant woman.

Juana Martin is inspired by the garden of the Katsura Imperial Villa. The flowers envelop all her creations. White, black and red become the basis of garments of controlled volumes and serene elegance. Floral and frilled applications fuse oriental culture with the Andalusia touch by the designer from Cordoba. An unmistakable style that season after season is reinvented on the runway.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, presents Estampad-2 a modern and daring collection that reviews her classics from the 80s and the 90s. Her particular stars, hearts, flowers and rainbows are blended with new prints, the base on her proposals for next summer. The use of silk becomes the main novelty, creating more sophisticated and exclusive looks without losing the colourful and carefree essence trademark of the House.
