Creation of the National Award for Fashion

20/11/2013

The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism creates the National Fashion Awards to acknowledge, yearly, the work of the companies in the sector. This award comes about as a proposal from the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España in the Mesa de la Moda / Bureau of Fashion. The National Fashion Awards will feature five categories: National Award for the SME Industry in the Fashion Sector, to the Large Corporation Industry in the Fashion Sector and to the Entrepreneurship in the Fashion Sector. Completing the list, the National Award for Fashion Designer in two modalities, novel and professional path, and an award that acknowledges the work of the media professionals, educational and cultural institutions, contributing to place value for Spanish fashion. This new award is added to the Premio Nacional de Diseño de Moda awarded by the Ministry of Culture, highlighting that fashion is not only the work of the creator, but also a rich sector in which intervene companies and professionals of various kinds. All comprise a consolidated system that, in addition to contributing towards economical growth, generates jobs and is exemplary in innovation and creativity.
