Meetings with Spanish Fashion

07/10/2016

French furniture and design brand Roche Bobois is responsible for promoting “Meetings with Spanish Fashion“, a charity initiative that reflects the talent and creativity of relevant national designers as applied to the iconic sofa Mah Jong. The purpose of this collaboration is to raise funds for the NGO “OAfrica” and strengthen links between fashion and design.

“For several years, Roche Bobois has been investing in cultural and artistic movements to express fully their vision of French Art de Vivre. For this purpose, we have given carte blanche to designers of Spanish talent Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Andres Sardá, Avellaneda, Custo Barcelona, Devota & Lomba, Ion Fiz, Juana Martín, Purificación García, Rossy de Palma and Xevi Fernández, to interpret Mah Jong, the brand’s iconic sofa. The result is spectacular, combining creativity, boldness and energy, “says the CEO of the Roche Bobois Group.

These ten designers have started from a sitting module in white of the sofa in order to create unique pieces that will be auctioned online by Wardhouse om October 20th.

These design sofas, which were presented in June within the frame of 080 Barcelona Fashion, are part of a travelling exhibit that has toured in the Roche Bobois stores in Marbella, Valencia and Bilbao.
