Designer Juana Martín kicks off the new edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Her fashion show, in the off schedule, was held at the emblematic Railway Museum. A charity event committed to the fight against breast cancer, the takings of which have been allocated in full to the Project on Breast Cancer and Pregnancy of the GEICAM Group, which works in more than 184 hospitals throughout Spain. Begoña Gómez Fernández, wife of the President of the Spanish Government Pedro Sánchez, wished to accompany them and offer her support as an expert in the third sector.
In her new resort 2019 collection, THE CURE, fabrics such as linens, lace, needle lace or ribbons are mixed through an incredible artisan work that gives rise to a detailed and carefully made garment. Powerful accessories that provide security to the look without losing that aura of romanticism add the counterpoint. The designer continues playing with refined lines and is true to her style, where the main colours are white, black, gold, and grey, combined in a unique colour scale with hand-worked prints.
MAYA HANSEN wished to pay tribute to the 60th anniversary of lollypop Chupa Chups by creating a capsule collection presented on one of the rooftops with the best views of Madrid, in calle Gran Vía. A proposal in which colour, graphic design, fun and candy references are reflected on summery garments: mini dresses, crop tops, leggings ... female pieces that coexist in this collection with other masculine and unisex ones. However, the most irreverent part of the brand is also represented in the ultra feminine silhouettes inspired and embodied in the corset, the star piece of the collection and the designer’s signature hallmark. One of these designs, a corset created with 3D pieces and crowned with dozens of candy Chupa Chups lollypops is exhibited in SPACIO K Salon until July 15th, within the framework of the urban festival Madrid es Moda.
