Amaya Arzuaga, National Fashion Design Award

Amaya Arzuaga has been granted the Premio Nacional de Diseño de Moda/ National Fashion Design Award, a distinction conceded annually by the Ministry of Education Culture and Sports since 2009.

This award acknowledges the professional path of one of the Spanish designers with greater global projection. Amaya Arzuaga created her own brand in 1994 and debuted in Madrid Fashion Week in 1995. The designer received the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes/ Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 2005.

Through out her career she has participated in relevant global fashion weeks such as London and Milan, and since 2010 she presents her first line at Semaine des Créateurs in París.

Amaya Arzuaga becomes thus the first woman to be awarded the distinction which, in previous editions, has been received by leading designers such as; Pertegaz, Paco Paco Rabanne, Elio Berhanyer and Manolo Blahnik.[:]
