"Manifestation of enthusiasm at some point in a celebration or collective act". That's 'apotheosis' in its second acceptation in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE). But tending to the classic taste that drives the Bilbao designer Manuel de Gotor, maybe we should stop at the third acceptation: "concession of godly dignity to heroes." Because of ones and the others will be filled the Apotheosis party and fashion show celebrating his 25 years in fashion.
"Apotheosis, as in a musical show is the grand finale of a work," explains Manuel de Gotor, "here are seven great finales of my most emblematic collections in a magical fashion show". The celebration, on the 15th, in Artys Madrid, happens within Madrid es Moda by ACME, the initiative to dress up the city with Spanish creativity and design during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM).
After 25 years in fashion, Manuel de Gotor has a clear recommendation to new comers: "Find your own style and try not to be like any other creator; having something distinctive makes your brand a success. " A recipe he applied himself from the beginning when in 1989 he presented, for the first time in Spain, a collection of underwear and swimwear for men.
And the future? "I would like to consolidate the brand, especially globally. Also create various new lines of accessories and collaborate with other worlds, such as wine and decoration." There's that.[:]
