The exotic luxury of the proposals of Jorge Vázquez

The figure of mythical Barbara Hutton is the source of inspiration for the fall / winter 2019-2020 collection by Jorge Vázquez. Her summer residence in Tangier and the eccentric nights full of luxury mark the Galician designer’s fashion proposal. Ethnic richness and oriental culture are reflected in garments of wide silhouettes and luxurious weavings like cashmere, alpaca and tulles meticulously embroidered. The chromatic range of the collection begins with dark tones, which are dotted with shines that symbolize the desert sun, until reaching a wide variety of bright colours. Miguel Marinero’s return to the past

Miguel Marinero began his career in the world of fashion in the 70s, a time when the pace of this industry was slower, and the garments were made to last over time. Thus, the fashion brand reviews its files to present a collection of timeless garments that extol the value of craftsmanship. Tweed and wool are mixed with lighter materials such as organza in garments of exaggerated volumes. Shoulders become the protagonists of Marinero’s silhouettes, who vindicates tailoring and the vintage spirit, also in his creations for men, made in collaboration with Lander Urquijo. Excess and energy are the keys to the furriery pieces. Large fur coats dyed in bright colours such as red and turquoise envelop the woman’s body, a clear symptom of evolution that shows how the fashion brand's designs have lasted since the 70’s. [:]

Juan Vidal introduces us to Angela

As every season, Juan Vidal's proposal has a woman’s name. Angela is a universal woman, just like pizza. She just as well wears berets, in the purest Parisian style, as a wonderful kimono dress of oriental influence. The Italian-American graphic printed on the garments invites us to taste Vidal’s most multicultural collection, a delicious mixture of flavours and textures that seeks uniqueness. The apron, a basic element for every good chef, sneaks into the exquisite pattern of the proposals. The calmness and warmth Schlesser’s winter

Daniel Rabaneda, creative director of Ángel Schlesser, delves into the fashion brand's historical archive to rescue shapes and volumes. If straight lines have characterized last season’s proposals, this time it is curves that slip into a warm and relaxed collection. The work of the designer for Seville, for this firm, is governed by a criterion of naturalness, not only stylistic, but also in the use of materials. Wool features in fabulous tailored suits and coats. The shirt line, made entirely of silk, adds a very feminine edge to this proposal, in which shapes, fabrics and colours coexist in perfect harmony. A tailoring lesson with Roberto Torretta

Men’s tailoring is the thread of Roberto Torretta’s new proposal. Aimed at an elegant and independent woman, the fall / winter collection distils character and energy. The elegance of Pedro del Hierro's simplicity

Pedro del Hierro presents "Solar", next season’s spring / summer 2019 collection. In this proposal the luxury of the Mediterranean and the most urban looks coexist. Ana Locking presents a collection charged with symbolism

All Ana Locking`s fashion shows tell a story. This time, the designer introduces us to a boy who lived in captivity, only accompanied by his toy horse, until he appeared on the streets of Nuremberg at age 16. The unsettling story of Kaspar Hauser is full of symbolism and criticism of the lack of communication and disinterest in true knowledge by current society that lives marked by virtual stimuli. The designer proposes a very sporty aesthetic, futuristic, with garments made of metallic shimmer materials and iridescent effect. This youthful appearance coexists with pieces that achieve a balance between the extravagant and the mundane, with long dresses that are not designed for galas, but to be mixed with other styles. The iconography of the collection, the figure of the toy horse and the very name of Kaspar Hauser, is reflected on knitted jumpers, and also on full-body tights that symbolize a second skin. The contrast of materials and textures, with devoré velvets, net, organza, broken tartan cottons, sequins, embroidered lycra, glass and metal beads, marks a complex proposal that avoids impositions and claims singularity. Hannibal Laguna’s exotic proposal

Hannibal Laguna presents a collection full of exoticism and sensuality. The designer presents a new and contemporary collection, symbol of the new phase his fashion brand begins with his transfer to calle Zorrilla in Madrid, epicentre of the capital’s Art Mile. Footwear, brides, optics, perfumery, accessories and high fashion jewellery will coexist in this space together with the prêt-à-porter line and atelier creations. [:]

Oteyza’s spectacular mise-en-scene

An extraordinary enclave, like the Teatro Español, has become the stage for the presentation of the Oteyza collection. "Lances" is the title chosen by Paul García de Oteyza and Caterina Pañeda, creative directors and founders of the fashion brand, for the fall / winter 2019-2020 proposal, in which two apparently opposite poles merge: classic regionalisms and vanguards from late 19th and 20th century. This collection is a tribute to the past with an eye on the present. A journey towards identity through time, a proposal that confirms a logical continuity to the work that the fashion brand is doing in favour of the recovery of classic Spanish tailoring garments, and the use of black merino sheep wool, a Spanish native species in danger of extinction. Oteyza has collaborated with painter from Barcelona, Fernando Mastretta, for this spectacular mise-en-scene. The artist, using techniques and digital formats, has made an unpublished work live during the fashion show. [:]

Duyos’ great banquet

Juan Duyos displays on the runway a large imperial table with which he invites us to a lavish banquet. And it is that the rich Spanish gastronomy, the flavours, the aromas and the colours of our country are the starting point of a collection that pays tribute to a modern and contemporary Spain, one that welcomes traditions, but that avoids clichés. Ingenuity, talent and character define a proposal that reflects every corner of Spain through fabrics and shapes. Devoré velvet with floral patterns transports us to courtyards in Andalusia, or the cherry fields of Extremadura. The blue night evokes the starry nights in the Canary Islands. El Dorado takes us to the fields of Castille... Moisés Nieto returns to his origins

Moisés Nieto returns to present his proposals with a formula that flees from the fashion show’s conventions. The designer from Jaen returns to the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), his alma mater, to show a collection in which he performs an exercise of balance of his almost ten years in the profession. Nieto looks back to examine his basic wardrobe, and he polishes it. The result is a balanced and responsible collection, in an impeccable execution of tailoring. The garments by the young designer play overlap to form complex looks. Cotton knitted bodice, pleated skirts in technical gabardine, classic double breasted jackets and merino wool overalls, make up a proposal with four main colours: red, blue, camel and black. The accessories do the rest. Large patterned silk scarves, leather bags and patchwork quilts (made with remnants of other collections) put a vibrant edge to a proposal that invites us to reflect on inappropriate consumption of fashion today.  [:]
