García Madrid rises as the winning brand of the competition "Creative BNE", a contest organized by ACME and the National Ballet of Spain among the designers of the Association to create the new general line of products of the company. This initiative, which has been sponsored by DUFRY HISPANOSUIZA SL, is an original way to link two important cultural industries, fashion and dance, demonstrating once more the harmony between them.
This collaboration arises due to the agreement that ACME and INAEM signed in 2014, being this one of the first initiatives undertaken to bring together the artistic directors of the national companies with the best fashion designers of the country.
After the evaluation of the jury, which selected three finalists’ designs, Antonio Najarro, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Spain, has chosen the proposal of García Madrid as the winner of the competition. The brand’s design is inspired by two typical Spanish dance elements such as the ruffle skirt and the castanet. Manuel Garcia, Creative Director of the brand, has conducted an exercise in synthesis through which he wishes to convey the joy, the presence and the freedom that can be felt through each and every one of the performances of the National Ballet of Spain.
The new product line of the National Ballet of Spain will go on sale next June 12th coinciding with the premiere of the new show of the company, Alento, that accounts with the wardrobe of another designer of ACME, Teresa Helbig.
