Spanish Fashion gets ready for its big night

The presentation of the nominees for the second edition of the Academia de la Moda Española Awards took place at Fernán Gómez Cultural Center in La Villa, where it was also announced that the gala will be held on July 17th.

Pepa Bueno, executive director of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) and vice president of the Fundación Academia de la Moda Española (FAME), opened the event with a speech that highlighted the value of the Awards as a platform for acknowledging fashion as a cultural industry. A creative expression that builds identity, drives development, and reveals the transformative potential of culture.

The nominations were read out by journalist Raquel Sánchez Silva, along with Nacho Aguayo and Álex Miralles, creative directors of Pedro del Hierro. Also participating were María Eizaguirre, Director of Communication and Participation at RTVE; actress Karla Sofía Gascón, who will host the gala; and Sergio Álvarez, director of FAME.

All nominated fashion proposals were either presented or developed in 2024, and were selected through the votes by the academics who make up the Academia de la Moda Española, being also responsible of selecting the winners. Additionally, the FAME Board of Trustees will award two special prizes during the gala: Best International Collection and an Honorary Award.
