ESlowfashion, the origin of Spanish fashion

ESlowfashion is the creative concept that shapes the next edition of Madrid es Moda. An invitation to look back, to understand Spanish author designer fashion, and to rediscover what makes it unique and different. A "savoir faire" that conquered European Royal Courts with King Philip II of Spain imposing the color black, that captivated the entire world in the 1920s with Fortuny's Delphos dress, that brought together in Balenciaga's Atelier the most powerful and elegant women on the planet or Paco Rabanne whom inundated the Paris runways with metallic sparkles. Fashion that still exists today combining tradition and modernity. Timeless fashion made upon demand, without over producing, made with quality materials, developed in family workshops in an artisanal and sustainable manner. A form of expression of our culture that breathes to Spain's rhythm.

This will be the starting point that will guide all the events of the most authentically "castizo" edition of Madrid es Moda. Postcards from Madrid starring Spanish author designer fashion. A tribute to a city that welcomes and fosters the talent that arrives from all over Spain.

Madrid es Moda will begin once again with a groundbreaking urban event open to the public. On this occasion, its opening will be held in one of the most iconic places in Madrid: the Puerta de Alcalá. An unprecedented event organized thanks to Madrid City Council through Madrid Capital de Moda, an initiative led by the Government Department of Economy, Innovation and Finance. In this magical setting, on Saturday 7th September at 7:30 p.m., during the evening, fifty models will show the proposals of more than 30 designers. A spectacular fashion show with references to Madrid's folklore and craftsmanship, and to Madrid as captured in Goya's paintings.
