IBEROSTAR Las Letras Gran Vía Hotel hosted today the awards ceremony of the Vth Window Shop Competition of MADRID ES MODA festival, an initiative of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) that highlights the relevance of the fashion exhibition space par excellence, the shop window. This competition enjoys the collaboration of the Community of Madrid, the City of Madrid and Madrid Capital de Moda, the mannequins brand Marcelo Vilá and Las Rozas Village.

The event was attended by Concha Díaz de Villegas, General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Madrid City Council; Augusto Guardiola, Director of Corporate Development at Marcelo Vilá; Toni Gasa, PR & Communications Manager of Value Retail Management (Las Rozas Village) and Modesto Lomba and Pepa Bueno, President and Director of ACME respectively, among others, who handed out the awards to the winners.

Students from the best fashion and design schools in Madrid (Madrid's Higher Fashion Design Centre, IED Madrid and ESNE) are the protagonists of the competition’s novel category. In this edition, ESNE students of the second year of Interior Design, Amanda Corral, Alberto Rubio and Rubén Muñoz, won Madrid es Moda’s Best Novel Window Shop Award (which includes a diploma, 500€ and a Marcelo Vilá's mannequin) for the installation made in the Franjul store with models by the shoe brand, a dress by Ulises Mérida and a cape by Seseña. From ESNE they wished to highlight the great collaboration and involvement in the project of the three fashion brands. The students stated, "This first professional experience means a first contact with the environment of fashion and window dressing that can help us in the future to develop other projects, and that also gives us visibility".

Ulises Mérida is happy "to be able to collaborate in the training of future design professionals by providing a look that they have selected ad hoc for their idea. We are happy to participate in activities like this one, one and a thousand times." Capas Seseña, who has already collaborated very successfully in previous editions of these awards, considers that "despite being a brand with 120 years of history, this type of action makes us feel as if we were born again with the help of these young students". Calzados Franjul feels that "it has been an honour to collaborate again in this project with Ulises Mérida and Capas Seseña, and a luxury that ESNE students have been able to show their creativity without limits, and play with the clothes to make this shop window that has finally been selected as the winner. For Héctor Jareño, Creative Director and founder of Reliquiae, "I am happy to receive this award, because I hold a personal crusade to unite fashion and art. Participating in this action has allowed me to reflect on the passage from 2D to 3D in a shop window, which is simply a matter of perspective, and having been awarded by them fills me with pride.”
