This morning, Juan Vidal's atelier hosted the presentation of “Routes through Spanish Designer Fashion in Madrid”, a project created and promoted by the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) and the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid, that places Spanish author fashion, unique in the world, as an essential part of Madrid's tourist attractions, thus promoting shopping tourism in the Community.
The event enjoyed the participation of Daniel Martínez, Deputy Counsellor of Culture and Tourism of the Community of Madrid, Luis Martín Izquierdo, General Director of Tourism of the Community of Madrid, Modesto Lomba, designer and President of ACME, and Pepa Bueno, Executive Director of ACME. On behalf of Madrid City Council, Olga María Ruiz Castillo, Deputy Director General of Commerce and Markets, attended.
“Routes through Spanish Designer Fashion in Madrid” will offer local and global visitors, through the main tour operators and hotels in the capital, a tour of 43 ateliers, boutiques and flagship stores of leading Spanish designers, where buyers will be able to enjoy totally exclusive and customizable experiences. Appointments with the designers themselves to find out about the new collections, the possibility of trying on models from fashion shows and brand archives, or access to ateliers to discover how the next catwalk fashion show is prepared, are but some of them. All accompanied in many cases by a courtesy appetizer or welcome drink.
The proposals have been collated in a carefully designed catalogue, published in English and Spanish, which may be viewed and downloaded at: www.rutasmodadeautormadrid.com, available on ACME’s website, www.madridcapitaldemoda.com and www.todoestaenmadrid.com. A very complete guide that locates all the fashion designer firms in the city’s various districts through simple and dynamic maps, and incorporates a complete file of all the participants: brand DNA, photo of the space, description of the experience and contact information.
