Maria Barros directs a fashion show by students from UFV

University Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) organizes the event EMERGE Fashion Show in which more than 30 students from the Degree in Design will showcase their creations. The fashion show, which will feature styling by UFV professor Sol Delgado, will be directed by ACME designer Maria Barros.

In this edition two collections will be displayed: firstly, the project coordinated by Raquel Cózar, a professor at UFV, entitled "Evolution," which integrates proposals developed by third year students of Design. These works reflect the values and feelings from the four stages of life: childhood, youth, maturity and old age.

Next the collection "Billy Elliot" will be presented, a project developed under the direction of Maria Barros in which students from all courses will participate. This collection aims to break with established rules, opting for an aesthetic androgyny and placing the focus on self-improvement of the individual beyond the dictum instituted by society.

Besides enjoying the fashion show, attendees can also discover the EMERGE initiative, a showroom for the exhibition and presentation of sponsors, fashion magazines and of the collections and brands created by the students and alumni; from dresses or T-shirts to jewellery and the most original accessories.

The meet will be attended by personalities related to the world of fashion, designers, bloggers, influencers and members of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), among others.

The event EMERGE Fashion Show, which is sponsored by the AXA Foundation, is a leading annual event organized by the Degree in Design UFV to foster creativity and young talent, a sturdy allegiance towards fashion and values committed to the pursuit of beauty and truth as a means to transform society.[:]
