Modesto Lomba participated yesterday in a meeting with the subscribers of the daily El Pais in the Teatro del Arte, Madrid in which Eugenia de la Torriente accompanied him. The fashion editor of El País and editor-in-chief of El País Semanal acted as moderator of the meeting which was attended by a hundred readers of the newspaper.
The wardrobe of Queen Letizia, the controversial Olympic uniforms, the success of Spanish fast fashion and the demise of Oscar de la Renta were among the hot topics discussed by the Basque designer, who shared with the subscribers of the daily his origins as a fashion designer and the passion he feels for his work. "I am fortunate to pursue my hobby," he said.
Lomba chatted with the attendees about the new phase his brand is going through which is now integrated into the Kangaroos group, where you can also find other brands such as Coronel Tapioca, Bonaventure and El Caballo. A new path for a signature label such as Devota & Lomba, that has accomplished 28 years on the road of national fashion.
