Moises Nieto was the designer chosen by a jury of experts and professionals of the sector to develop a collection made up with at least 80% of fabrics proceeding from recycled materials full of creativity.
This initiative, the first of its kind in Spain, arose with the aim of promoting the use of recycled materials in the design and production of fashion collections and to promote among professionals the use of this type of fabrics. Thus Moses Nieto has become the first designer to lead the movement for sustainable fashion within the project "Laboratory MFSHOW by Ecoembes". In this way he will have the opportunity to showcase his designs in a capsule collection of at least 20 garments, to be presented in the next edition of MFSHOW WOMEN, to be held next February.
The award has had an exceptional jury composed of Nieves Rey, Manager of Corporate Communication of Ecoembes; Blanca Zurita, cofounder of MFSHOW; Iñaki Ortega, Director of Deusto Business School; Marta Michel, Director of Yo Dona; Helena Lopez de Hierro, Director of the Museo del Traje; Maria Almazan, CEO of Latitude Contemporary Fashion Makers; the designer Juan Duyos and Nerea Avellaneda, Head of the Department Global Sales and Product of Hoss Intropia.
The announcement has taken place framed within "La Comunidad", the first meeting of sustainable fashion and recycling to be held in Spain. This event, organized by Ecoembes and MFSHOW, was developed at the Museo del Traje in Madrid in order to share ideas and analyse the benefits of the application of innovation to sustainable fashion, a trend that gains strength with designers and consumers. Due to this, the event is attended by different personalities from the textile industry, design, innovation, environmental stewardship or the field of publishing.[:]
