Oteyza’s vision of men's fashion, at the Spanish Embassy in Brussels

The Spanish Embassy in Brussels opens its doors to celebrate a reception in honor of OTEYZA, Paul García de Oteyza and Caterina Pañeda’s signature label. Under the title “The new paradigm of men's fashion. Tradition and avant-garde”, the Spanish fashion brand presented its vision of men's fashion in the Belgian capital.

OTEYZA showcased their work and brand identity through wonderful photographs and a careful selection of their most special creations. Galernas, alzadas, capes, zuloagas, hats and gabias and many more pieces where 100% Spanish merino wool was the absolute protagonist.

For over three years, said fashion brand has become a champion of the national program for the recovery of the Spanish Merino flock of sheep in danger of extinction. OTEYZA is an authorized operator by the Asociación Española de Criadores de Raza Merino for the use of their 100% Native Breed logo, and has been collaborating with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain in joint promotional actions. The Merino breed is one of our country’s most emblematic and important native sheep breeds, with a great history and tradition. Its black variety, which is in danger of extinction, has been bred exclusively in Spain and Portugal. The quality of the wool of this breed is exceptional, and thus it was revealed in this great event, in which the Belgian partner of OTEYZA, the textile company SCABAL, also participated.

OTEYZA's presentation at the Spanish Embassy in Brussels was accompanied by a tasting of 100% Raza Autóctona products thanks to the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Spanish Federation of FEAGAS Select Livestock Associations and the courtesy of the associations of breeders, enjoyed with wines from Bodegas Remírez de Ganuza.

With this event, OTEYZA aimed to raise Spanish men's fashion to the highest level and showcase the sector’s capacity for renewal and progression. As the fashion brand stated, "there is a place for craftsmanship and avant-garde, for a new vision of man in which his dress codes are reformulated from character, sophistication and sustainability".
