"We belong to two very different generations of Spanish fashion and, perhaps because of that, we had very few opportunities to share our opinions about our profession and the challenge of exercising it in our country, but saved this natural distance, the person and the work of David Delfín always seemed extraordinary. He was a very brave young man, able to remind us how brave we all have been ... and very bright, something even rarer in our profession and in any other.
David Delfin had an innate talent for all the things he did, whether dancing or playing music, designing a collection or dreaming a staging. Writing, drawing, sewing or singing ... everything he did he knew how to do very well. I feel a great sorrow for his loss, for I think he was the perfect example of the "survivor", a kind of hero as necessary as scarce in our profession. In the fifteen years that he accompanied us, he was able to demonstrate why he was the best of his generation. The National Fashion Award wanted to recognize him in the hardest moment of his life, when he and his inseparable Bimba knew that life is beautiful but very short. Rest in peace. We have his memory.
