Spanish fashion in NYFW

Four designers from the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España have presented their collections during New York Fashion Week.  Custo Barcelona was the first in the schedule of fashion shows by Spanish designers with "Shake before use", an ethnic and colourful proposal that uses a sensual and contemporary language.  The Catalan designer displayed a set of textured and layered garments.  Female silhouettes are covered with wool skirts with godets, pleats on a silk base and sleeves inspired by origami.  For men, Custo proposed coats, jackets, suits and sweaters combining typical winter colours with riskier tones.

Etxeberria held his second fashion show in New York fashion week.  The Basque designer advocates a return to roots in a collection that reunites him with classic tailoring as the basis of his inspiration.  Etxeberria presented a collection on the runway  in which wool rises as protagonist.  Patent and textured sets are the leitmotif of his creations for next winter, where there are plenty of exotic skins- an unmistakable signature of the designer’s work.

Pedro del Hierro Madrid returned to New York to show the collection that Carmen March created for the emblematic label of the Cortefiel Group.  This is the fourth time that the brand participates in New York fashion week.  The new collection, inspired by the movies of the "Destape", mixes fun, sensuality and freedom through light tailoring with fabrics that caress the skin, prints recreating disco lights and minimalist accessories.  Textures become important in the brand's proposal with luxurious jacquards and exquisite painted velvets.

Delpozo has established its place in New York fashion week with a new collection in which its creative director, Josep Font, translates various artistic traces into his designs. The gestural brushwork of Rhys Lee, which fills his canvas with electric colours in contrast with powdered tones, is the main thread of the label’s collection in a continuous contrast of colours and textures.  The mystical halo of the work of Andrey Rmnev is reflected in a feminine and mysterious proposal through balloon sleeves and straight and rigorous volumes that have an architectural effect.
