Traces of heritage and landscape

OTEYZA presented their "Trazos" collection at Madrid es Moda , a Spring-Summer 2026 fashion proposal created from a dialogue between pastoral layers and the work of photographer Ortiz Echagüe. The project unfolded as an artistic intervention in their Conde de Xiquena space, where fashion and cultural heritage converged in a gesture of contemporaneity.

The collection is inspired by the figure of the shepherd as a symbol of rooted identity translated into a contemporary language that champions memory and sustainability. "Trazos" proposes a reflection upon heritage as a living material, which is transformed and projected into the present through noble materials and a refined concept. The intervention revolved around the piece Zagal, conceived for the "Raices" exhibit at the Museo del Traje, and reactivated in this context as the proposal's narrative axis.

The garments, crafted from Spanish merino wool, cotton, linen, and burlap, retained the functional breadth of traditional capes, reinterpreting them with an elegant and precise approach. The designs, in visual dialogue with Zagal, reinforced the presentation's ritual atmosphere. The earthy, green, and mustard tones evoked natural and cultural landscapes, while emphasizing an aesthetic with strong roots and a contemporary sensibility.

With "Trazos", OTEYZA projects a language that connects tradition with the present, consolidating a unique discourse rooted in Spanish culture.
