MAN\u00c9MAN\u00c9, the winning brand in the latest edition of Who’s on Next, becomes a new associate of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Creadores de Moda de Espa\u00f1a (ACME).<\/p>\n
Founded by designer Miguel Becer, the label joins ACME due to the agreement reached in 2014 between Vogue and the Asociaci\u00f3n de Creadores de Moda de Espa\u00f1a whereby the winners of the Who’s on Next award join up and become part of said professional organization. With this initiative the commitment that they maintain to promoting and supporting the new values \u200b\u200bof Spanish fashion is consolidated.<\/p>\n
“To join ACME implies to be part of the great family of Spanish fashion. Being a member of the most relevant community in our sector and to feel the support and energy of my colleagues, ” expressed the creator from Caceres.<\/p>\n
With his incorporation there are already 54 members of ACME, an Association that groups the fashion designer signature labels most relevant in our country, and which also includes Juan Vidal and Maria Ke Fisherman, winners of the II and III Edition of Who’s on Next.<\/p>\n
Among the aims and objectives of ACME is promoting commercial, cultural and communication activities that result in benefits for the fashion design sector, as well as representing and defending the professional interests of its associates.<\/p>\n
The Who’s On Next competition is a unique initiative that each year awards the designer revelation. Yolanda Sacristan, Director of Vogue Spain, and the fashion team of the magazine are in charge of selecting the candidates, amongst which they choose the winner. The delivery of this award has become an unmissable event, being the fashion award with the most generous cash prize in our country. This prestigious competition is part of Vogue Fashion Fund, an initiative of huge projection that brings together the 12 international editions of Vogue in a commitment to finding and promoting new talent in fashion design.<\/p>\n
Miguel Becer began studying music and piano with only 7 years. After graduating from High School of Music, he moved to Madrid to start reading Economics at Rey Juan Carlos University, studies which he combined with his training in fashion at the School of Art n\u00ba2, where he graduated as a finalist in the Aurelio Blanco Grant of the Community of Madrid.<\/p>\n
He has collaborated with important Spanish fashion labels such as Amaya Arzuaga, Angel Schlesser, Bimba & Lola and Juan Vidal, a task that encouraged him to start his own brand. He combines his role as Creative Director at MAN\u00c9MAN\u00c9, with which he has already submitted six collections, with various publishing and teaching work.
