The event was attended by <strong>Gonzalo Cabrera<\/strong>, general director of Culture and Creative Industries of the Community of Madrid, <strong>Modesto Lomba<\/strong>, designer and president of ACME, <strong>Pepa Bueno<\/strong>, executive director of ACME, and <strong>Christian de Angelis<\/strong>, co-founder of Modaes.<\/p>\n<p>The report, among other analyses and comparatives, confirms the sector&#8217;s completing its recovery as well as maintaining an upward trend with an 8.4% increase in its turnover, surpassing the figure prior to the pandemic and marking a new high in the historical series by reaching 977 million euros in turnover and 14.6 million items produced, the highest figure in the last four years. A very positive result supported by the <strong>local market<\/strong>, which is recuperating ground reaching a share of 60%, and by the <strong>online channel<\/strong>, one of the main drivers of the industry&#8217;s development with an increase nearing 20% compared to 2022. However, in a year marked by increased turnover, international operations have experienced a slight regression.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Modesto Lomba<\/strong>, president of ACME, pointed out during his speech that \u201cauthor fashion design in Spain is advancing steadily. It is growing, developing and promoting itself more strongly than ever and, although challenges such as financing or sustainability continue to be present, at ACME we will work tirelessly so that &#8220;Made in Spain&#8221; takes advantage of these challenges and continues to be a world benchmark for quality and excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On her behalf, <strong>Pepa Bueno<\/strong>, executive director of ACME, added that \u201cSpanish author fashion must have the ambition to be international. In fact, a large part of these firms were created in and have their focus on external markets. As explained in this report, and from a historical perspective, the growth of this sector in international markets is very significant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Spanish Fashion Design, in Numbers<\/em>, is undoubtedly a useful and enlightening tool of the Spanish fashion industry&#8217;s economy. The increase in turnover, which reached pre-pandemic figures, or the increase of 7.3% experienced by the distribution network of Spanish author fashion companies, is significant data that reflects the positioning of a booming industry. From the Community of Madrid we will continue to work hand in hand with ACME to support the main challenges, such as internationalisation and access to financing, that the members of the Association face\u201d, concluded <strong>Gonzalo Cabrera<\/strong>, general director of Culture and Creative Industries of the Community of Madrid.<\/p>\n<p><em>Spanish Fashion Design, in Numbers<\/em>, which in this edition has enjoyed the support of the Community of Madrid, the Government Area of \u200b\u200bEconomy, Innovation and Finance of Madrid City Council and the collaboration of Modaes, aims to be a tool focused on contributing to the knowledge of the sector&#8217;s main economic data. It also aims to provide a basis on which to make business decisions consistent with the circumstances of the moment.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing quantitative data of high value for companies, it also collects qualitative information regarding the opinion of companies about the future&#8217;s challenges and opportunities.
