Sustainable fashion returns to claim its space in Madrid es Moda together with The Circular Project. In this IX edition, several activities have been organized to raise awareness regarding ONE PLANET, ONE SOLUTION, an initiative that has ACME’s support, and that arises with the aim of showing the cities and fashion industry’s commitment against climate change, using a powerful tool: sustainable fashion.
Fashion that appears as the engine of change towards smarter cities: better dressed and better inhabited. If it is possible to change our clothes life cycle, from planting the seed that will give life to the fabric until it reaches the consumer that uses and throws away a garment, being held accountable both ethically and ecologically, the world will be transformed.
This is one of the main messages that have been conveyed in the cycle of presentations held at the mall Moda Shopping to present the project ONE PLANET, ONE SOLUTION, and raise awareness to the greatest number of people of the urgency and need for this change. Moderated by the Vogue journalist, Eva Blanco, the conferences had as protagonists women very sensitized with this great challenge: Paloma G. López, founder of The Circular Project and president of the Sustainable Fashion Association of Madrid, Sonia Lazaro of the University Nebrija, Teti Sánchez, author of Moda e Projecto, Ana Belén Noriega, of the Spanish Forest Certification Association (PEFC), Anna Cañadell of BCome, Marta Lucas of Electrolux Spain and Mariel Jumpa, of Slow Fashion World.
Along the same lines and with the same objectives, different sustainable fashion brands - Fraccional, Sylvia Calvo BCN, Bohetnica, Irema, Abbisi, Erie Berlin, Alma Green Design, Canussa, Cristina Oviedo and Francisca Tornero - also decided to join to exhibit their garments made in a responsible manner and showcase how they work. The exhibition is installed on the first floor of the Moda Shopping Mall and can be visited free of charge until July 14th.
Do visit the Madrid es Moda website to check out each and every one of the activities scheduled for this edition.
