The jury, headed by the ACME’’s President, Modesto Lomba, has been in charge of selecting the winning collections in this third edition. This year's theme has been Save the Sea, so all the participating proposals have resonated with this motto, thus demonstrating Mallorca Design Day's commitment to sustainability and the environment.
Carolina Galvis with her collection OLK has been the winner in the Balearic category of the III edition of Mallorca Design Day. The National Award went to designer from Vizcaya, Ondarroa, Begoña Chaves Agulla. Chaves was inspired to create this collection by her passion for the sea as well as belonging to a saga of sailors. The garments are inspired by the ancient work clothes of ancient sailors. The collection of Argentine designers Camila Medina and Agostina Mucanna won the International Fashion Award of the III edition of Mallorca Design Day. Their MIMESIS collection, in which they reuse disused broken ship sails, has been the jury’s favourite in this third edition.
