Maria Ke Fisherman, the signature label winner of the latest edition of Who's on Next, becomes a new member of the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España (ACME).
Made up by Maria Lemus and Victor Alonso, the brand joins ACME due to the agreement reached last May between Vogue and the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España whereby the winners of the award Who's on Next join becoming part of said professional organization. This initiative reinforces the commitment both maintain towards promotion and support of the new values in Spanish fashion.
Maria and Victor expressed their satisfaction upon their entry into ACME. "The Asociación Creadores de Moda de España has always been a benchmark, a goal and a wish. We are excited to be direct participants in the decisions that affect the future of Spanish Fashion. Having the support of Vogue and ACME encourages us to grow and mature as designers and entrepreneurs. "
With their incorporation, it is already 49 the associates of ACME, an association that includes the most relevant fashion design labels of the country, and in which also participates Juan Vidal, winner of the 2nd edition of Who's on Next.
The aims and objectives of ACME are promoting commercial, cultural and media activities that result in benefits for the fashion design industry, as well as representing and defending the professional interests of its members.
The Who's On Next competition is a unique initiative that each year awards the designer revelation. Yolanda Sacristan, director of Vogue Spain, and the team of the fashion magazine are responsible for selecting candidates, amongst which they choose a single winner. With only three editions, the event of the award has become a coveted date, being the fashion award with the greater economic endowment of our country. This prestigious event is part of the Vogue Fashion Fund, an initiative of huge projection that unites 12 international editions of Vogue in a commitment to finding and promoting new talent.
The signature label Maria Ke Fisherman is created in 2009 with the aim of gaining a foothold in the growing market of high fashion sport. In September 2010, the label is selected from more than 200 brands to show their collection at Ego, where they participated in three editions. After presenting their fall-winter 2013/2014 collection with a fashion film in the platform vice.com the success of Maria Ke Fisherman grows. Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga wear their designs, and they close major commercial agreements with prestigious international outlets such as Opening Ceremony (in New York and Los Angeles) and Fake Tokyo, and other multibrands in Toronto, Paris, Melbourne and San Francisco. Since February 2014 the brand participates in the New York Fashion Week.
