Amaya Arzuaga has been in charge of opening the first day of fashion shows at IFEMA in which have also been shown the proposals for Fall-Winter 2014/15 by Roberto Verino, Miguel Palacio for Hoss Intropia, Etxeberria, Devota & Lomba and Duyos. The cape. the use of leather and colours such as camel or black, have been the shared theme of the creations that have been seen on the runway today at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
Volumes in the back inspired by the wings of a bird and folds that simulate vegetable shapes are the protagonists in the proposals of AA by Amaya Arzuaga. The designer demonstrates her know-how with knit wear and investigates in this collection with different techniques in the treatment of leather which is shown printed, varnished and even laminated. Arzuaga shows predilection for kaleidoscopic prints to tint with colour the winter garments of her second line.
Roberto Verino has sought his inspiration in the great divas of the 60s. Icons such as Audrey Hepburn or Jackie Kennedy are the starting point for an elegant and sophisticated collection. Woollen garments and Prince of Wales plaids inundate the looks for daywear by Roberto Verino, who presents an urban and chic winter. The Galician designer tints in strict black evening wear, creating his personal “dinner with diamonds”.
Miguel Palacio has created for Hoss Intropia a collection with silk and geometric embroidery as protagonists. Airs from the Seventies in garments in straight lines or slightly evasé where black bursts with vigour. Original bow effects on necklines and shoulders add the sophisticated touch to the creations by Palacio for the next winter.
Etxeberria proposes a return to the origin with a reinterpretation of his principal references. A sole review of the gala and evening suits of English tailoring in the 20s and of Naples in the 50s. Wool, felt and leather revert to their essential matter, blending, overlapping and contrasting among them giving as a result elegant looks and at the same time risqué for a man who shuns convention.
Modesto Lomba presents a collection of futuristic airs while at the same time reviews the Devota & Lomba DNA through architectural volumes. Unusual colours for winter proposals such as raw, water green or pink fuchsia glide into a collection that exudes optimism. The cape, whether it is in wool or in leather, is one of the key pieces in winter for the brand. Embroidery in shapes reminiscent of origami decorates delicate and feminine garments.
Tradition is the starting point for Duyos. His proposal for next Fall-Winter, entitled nº 15, celebrates the 15th anniversary of the brand in the Madrid runway. Fifteen are also the antique shawls that inspired the designer to create a collection of fluid silhouettes. Motifs of flora and fauna, delicately embroidered, inundate the garments by Duyos. A winter of multi-coloured silks presented with contrasting textures of paillettes and prominent fur or ostrich feathers coats.
