A new edition of MBFWM begins

The Ailanto label kicks off from the Hall 14 of IFEMA in the 62nd edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Their collection, inspired by the paintings of British artist David Hockney, takes us to California in the 70s through surfer style looks, caftans and folk strokes. The prints, a hallmark of the Muñoz brothers, are composed of three coloured lines, small fishes and leaves are stamped in fresh fabrics such as silk and linen. Highlighted are the accessories with large hand bags made of artisan braided wicker and sculptural enamel jewels.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada packs the catwalk with pastel colours. Her stars, hearts, rainbows and unique prints are reinvented again in a very feminine proposal with retro airs. High waist and wide leg trousers, A-line skirts, flirty straight dresses and sophisticated fringed garments are the keys of her collection for next spring-summer season. A wager full of optimism designed to be worn at any time of the day by a daring, cheerful and fun woman.

Angel Schlesser parades again his timeless and classic elegance presenting a sober collection without artifice. Taking as a starting point minimalism of the 90s, the designer from Cantabria reinterprets his iconic garments such as the trench or the pantsuit. Mild ruffles and asymmetrical cuts slip in a proposal of simple patterns and straight lines. Monochrome looks are the protagonists of his collection, which is dotted with subtle doses of prints.

Roberto Verino proposed a trip to paradise aboard a boat with his first foray into swimwear. Sailor styles in a collection that exudes elegance and sophistication through sensual and flowing lines. The stripes and prints in the proposals for daytime give way to sober looks for the night. Black and white stand up as protagonists when the sun sets with tunics and suits topped by golden buckles and belts. Natural fabrics for proposals that draws us towards a very attractive and seductive universe.

Francis Montesinos presented on the catwalk "Under the Skin" a collection that combines different art forms like kabuki, flamenco and rock. Racial pink polka dot prints give way to oriental inspired looks. Leather and mesh garments join up in this proposal with which the designer from Valencia pays tribute to one of the global rock legends, band member of the group Kiss Gene Simmons, exceptional guest to the Francis Montesinos fashion show.

Duyos presents an ethereal proposal, without artifice. White is the main theme of Obumu, a collection made of natural fabrics such as linen, silk or cotton guipure, in a bid for the artisan crafts, naturalness and fine couture. The purity of form, the fluidity of the silhouettes and a neutral palette is interrupted by subtle touches of colour and delicate rhinestone applications that provide a sophisticated touch to garments designed to satisfy the most demanding clients.

Devota & Lomba takes as the origin of his inspiration the East, the architecture and the geometry. The Japanese tradition of origami, a constant of the creative universe of the label directed by Modesto Lomba, emerges as the great protagonist of the garments for next spring-summer 2016. Earth tones and off-white are the basis of the collection, which fills up with straight lines dyed in red and blue alternating with daring doses of fluor colours in garments of complex patterns.
