This is 'Tiburón', the new collection from Palomo Spain

TIBURÓN is the title of Palomo´s new spring-summer 2022 collection. The creator from Cordova presents his proposal in a unique setting, the new LOOM Space at Castellana 85. This spectacular business centre is transformed into a catwalk to showcase his new designs, in which he establishes a vibrant parallelism between the sobriety of the day-to-day life of entrepreneurs and the eccentricity of their desire for greatness and the generous funds in their accounts.

Alejandro Palomo hence explores the executive world and its classic clothing. Movies like “The Wolf of Wall Street” serve as inspiration to transform the aesthetics and at-the-office looks. Classic tailoring becomes contemporary using rigid structures that add an extravagant touch. Sable, mink and marabou accentuate this eccentric point, as well as psychedelic prints as a symbol of lives full of substances and debauchery.

Palomo completes his executive's wardrobe with more casual outfits, polo shirts and preppy-style knit pieces, which become the designer's first knitwear exercise. In his more casual line, laser process customized Levi's 501 stands out. Colourful accessories dress-up Palomo's looks for next season with leather briefcases made in striking colours as well as his sunshades made for MÓ de Multióptica.

Ana Locking presents "Paranormal"

Designer Ana Locking presents Paranormal, her first Couture collection. With a spectacular exhibit montage, for which she has collaborated with photographer Eugenio Recuenco, the creator reflects on the relationship between surrealism, the imaginary and reality. "This collection is born from the intention of creating hidden, disturbing, surreal and deeply disconcerting narratives. Also from the desire to think about a reality where forced disconnection with the environment, as well as with time, has as a reverse; the deep need to bond with the other and of human connection," declares the designer. Ana Locking takes off from the idea of working on the identity of a group of women and men who seem bewitched, and who have lived, or are living at that very moment, a complex life or moment. All this disturbing but addictive story is recreated through the images of Eugenio Recuenco. Twelve scenic spaces have been created for these twelve photographs, which have been physically built one by one as if it were a film set. A constant emotional swing is the common thread of a collection in which Steven Spielberg's Encounters of the Third Kind becomes an aesthetic reference for Ana Locking. Demi-couture garments are presented as the result of an exhaustive artisan process, making an authentic display of baroque. But, as a result of this constant contradiction in the collection, in Paranormal there are pieces that flee from all artifice. This proposal exudes drama and celebrates the material’s richness, paying homage to the magic of artisanal and the complexity of the pattern.

The nostalgic summer of Moisés Nieto

Moisés Nieto immerses us in his memories to transport us to his own summer during 1990, a shelter from which he has created his new collection. The designer from Jaen recreates his childhood to wander through the tradition and routine of a land and a time, sometimes longed for, to design his fashion proposals for the spring-summer 2022 season. In an uncertain moment, where over information, excess images and accelerated changes in the fashion system are almost becoming the norm, assaulting and overwhelming us, the longing for a more leisurely and respectful lifestyle becomes the guiding thread of a collection that speaks about memories and everyday life. Damask fabrics, or seersucker are the protagonists of interesting textures and structured volumes. The crochet of the cloths, the net curtains, the lace or the patio plants, represent the eternal and hot summers of the south. These elements are translated into wide midi dresses, pleated silk skirts, wide pants and light garments made with organic cotton or silk fabrics, and mixed with artisanal techniques such as knitting, crochet and macramé. Thus, in his proposal for next summer, Moisés Nieto revises the classics adding new and unexpected details. As in previous collections, the designer once again brings us closer to the most traditional craftsmanship, emphasizing sustainability, two aspects that have become a genuine, distinctive feature of his work.
