"El Pellizco" by Pedro del Hierro

Pedro del Hierro presents “El Pellizco”, a new collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. A fashion proposal inspired by flamenco's deepest emotions that celebrates the emotional forces of fashion.

“El Pellizco” explores the purest flamenco's essence and the magic arisen in the places where this genre of singing and dancing originates. The fashion proposal plays with the pairings of that which is masculine and that which is feminine, black and white, giving rise to a collection full of elegance and personality.

The codes of men's tailoring are reinterpreted in feminine garments by combining tuxedos with straight, flared or drain-pipe trousers. Additionally, the collection gives way to the silhouette's progressive feminisation through sketched garments with déshabillé or half-dressed designs.

Contrast plays is also reflected in materials and textures, such as T-shirts that replace cotton with transparent wool, interchangeable collars and ties with stripes and polka dots as well as oversized sweaters accompanied by wide-draping skirts. The main fabrics include wool, silk, mohair and velvet, in a palette of black, burgundy and khaki, with flashes of light due to metallic finishes.
