While present on the island for Gran Canaria Swim Week by Moda Cálida, designer Modesto Lomba, president of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME), took the opportunity to participate alongside Minerva Alonso, Councilor for Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Crafts of Gran Canaria Island's Council, in several activities related to the fashion sector's training and creative program.
On October 20th, Lomba gave a talk directed at the fashion cycle pupils at IES La Minilla, where he shared his vision on professionalization and the challenges facing Spanish fashion. The following day, October 21st, he visited the atelier of designer Pedro Palmas, a member of the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program, to learn more about his creative process and his commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability.
These actions reinforce the collaboration between ACME and Gran Canaria Island's Council, aimed at promoting local talent, specialized training and the projection of Canarian design on the Spanish scene.
