Devota & Lomba, Jorge Vázquez and Miguel Marinero close the 63rd edition of MBFWM

23/02/2016

The final day of fashion shows of the 63rd edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has included three fashion shows by brands from the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España.

Devota & Lomba showed on the runway his collection “Tangram”. Clean lines and geometric shapes are key to a proposal where the Basque designer tells us about deconstruction through his garments, with ample flared skirts and applications that come together piece by piece just like a game of tangram. Thick knitwear becomes one of the star bets by Devota & Lomba for next season. Ice, dark blue, black and cream are the tones that colour a collection constructed in an architectural manner.

Jorge Vázquez returns to the MBFWM runway 10 years later with his collection “L’Orient”, with which he has won the L’Oreal award for best runway collection. Orientalism in the early twentieth century and Paul Poiret are the starting point of a proposal full of sophistication in which the most elegant garments are juxtaposed with others sports-inspired in a mix that unites East and West. Lingerie dresses, oversize sweatshirts, bomber jackets and pyjama suits presented in a colourful exaltation with prints inspired by Chinese silks and Japanese wallpapers.

Miguel Marinero presents “Rombo” a collection that combines fabrics and leather in a bid to reinvent his brand showing, for the first time on the runway, fashion textile creations. With this collection Miguel Marinero flees from tradition and moves towards the future. Furriery, artisan embroidery and design run parallel as a geometrically perfect rhombus in which Marinero uses fabrics such as silk, wool and denim combining them with exquisite fox and mink fur in an addition of pragmatism and elegance.
