The Region of Murcia presented MEET FASHION REGION OF MURCIA at the Museo del Traje in Madrid, an initiative created to strengthen the regional fashion sector and increase the visibility of its designers within the country. The event, hosted by Anne Igartiburu, brought together the Councillor of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, Carmen Conesa, and the President of ACME, Juan Duyos, in a debut that highlighted the relationship between fashion, culture, and regional identity.
The presentation included an artistic performance featuring Devota & Lomba, Duyos, Oteyza, De la Cierva & Nicolás, and Mariano Moreno. Each designer showcased a collection conceived from the Region’s representative elements: the interplay between the Mediterranean Sea and the Mar Menor lagoon, the energy of its festivals, the art scene, sports, and gastronomy. A statement of intent that outlines the guiding philosophy of this cultural project.
MEET FASHION is a platform promoted by the regional government through the Institute of Cultural and Artistic Industries. Its objective is to strengthen the industrial fabric, offer professional tools for development, and project the talent from Murcia beyond its borders. Its integration into the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España also opens the door to specialized services and visibility opportunities from the first moment.
Its annual program includes a new Competition to Promote Regional Fashion Design; MEET FASHION FOCUS—which will hold its first edition in 2026 with training sessions led by names like Oteyza—and MEET FASHION TALENT, scheduled for April 2026, where the Competition finalists will present their collections in an immersive format before the finale and the Awards ceremony.
Thus, MEET FASHION REGION OF MURCIA consolidates a strategic commitment to creativity and local industry, proposing a contemporary look for Murcia’s identity while generating a stable framework for growth for the new generations of fashion designers.
