The Canal de Isabel II Exhibition Hall presents the exhibition Nostalgia / Utopia, a retrospective dedicated to Ana Locking, from March 4th to July 12th, 2026. The exhibit spans nearly two decades of the designer’s work, and vice president of ACME, at the venue located in Calle Santa Engracia, 125, Madrid.
The exhibition brings together more than 160 garments presenting fashion as a narrative in transit between memory and projection. The exhibit offers an interpretation of her career through the tension between what is remembered and what is imagined, positioning each collection as part of an emotional archive that engages with the present.
The exhibition features pieces from collections such as Kaspar Hauser (Autumn-Winter 2019), Under Beauty (Spring-Summer 2012), and The Thinker (Spring-Summer 2017), photographed by Jesús Madriñán. Through these outfits, the designer unfolds a body of work that intertwines identity, desire, and political reflection using the language of fashion.
The project is curated by Alberto Gonper and organized by the General Directorate of Fine Arts, the General Directorate of Culture and Creative Industries, and the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Sport.
The venue is open from Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays and on May 1st.
The exhibit features a program of activities that includes guided tours for individuals and groups, programs for schools, and family workshops, all free of charge with prior reservation.
