The VIIth Window Shop Competition announces the winners

10/02/2020

The Xth edition of  Madrid es Moda comes to an end with the traditional awards ceremony of its Window Shop Competition, a classic that cannot be missed in this urban fashion festival. Created almost on par, the fashion festival and window shop competition have evolved together, always hand in hand, and with the support of Madrid City Council’s fashion platform, Madrid Capital de Moda and Hotel Iberostar Las Letras, which hosts each edition the celebration of the awards event attended by the awardees.

The talent and originality of the participants, both in the novel as well as the professional category, are key aspects for the members of the competition’s jury, in which colleges and designers showcase their most creative side dressing-up the capital’s shop windows, as well as creating spaces with fashion with a message.

On this occasion, the team of professionals and fashion experts who have cast their vote to decide who are the winners of this VIIth call, were Concha Díaz de Villegas, General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship City Council of Madrid, Nuria de Miguel, Director MBFWM, Olga Ruiz Minguito, Director of Telva, Teresa Iturralde, Fashion Editor of Yo Dona Fashion, Natalia Bengoechea, Fashion Director of S Moda, Rafael Muñoz, Fashion Editor of RTVE.es, Eloy Martínez de la Pera, General Director from the company Sin Título Proyectos, Mayte de la Iglesia, Influencer and Fashion blogger, and our own Executive Director, Pepa Bueno.

And the verdict was as follows. In the Best Professional category, the brand El Verso has been the winner of the Award for the Best Window Shop with a € 1,000 endowment. Received by Carmen González, the brand’s Creative Director and founder, from Beatriz Santaolalla, Head of the Commercial Innovation Service of the Madrid City Council, representing the General Directorate of Commerce and Madrid Capital de Moda, and ACME’s President Modesto Lomba. Their Window Shop at Icon Wipton Hotel in Madrid has perfectly reflected the brand’s commitment to detail, and the delicate finishes of their sophisticated blouses, which are customized with jewel or fantasy accessories.

And the award in the Best Novel category, endowed with € 500 has been befallen on the students of the Superior Centre of Design and Fashion of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (CSDMM), for their spectacular assembly with Ana Locking ‘s fashion designs in collaboration with Flor Motion set in mall Moda Shopping. Beatriz Santaolalla, representing the General Directorate of Commerce and Madrid Capital de Moda, also presented said award, together with Tamara Alcalde, ACME’s Communication Director. The award-winning students who collected their award along with Héctor Navarro of the CSDMM, are Silvia Muñoz, Inés Fernández, Almudena Jorge, Cristina Alijo, Débora Garagundo, Sonia Reyes, Wen Hui Ma, Alicia Jiménez, Beatriz Antón, Natalia Garrido, Natalia Cacho, ÁlvarSoronellas, Lucía Aguilar, Ane Altube, Beatriz Jiménez, Marina Porta, Cristina Pardo, Raquel Garcia, Mar Ortiz and Sara Filgueira.
