Maison Mesa, the Angel Who Decides to Fall

21/03/2026

I ain’t no angel”. The phrase that titles Maison Mesa’s new collection also encapsulates its underlying attitude. Presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid for Fall/Winter 26/27, the collection takes as its starting point the iconic figure of Mae West and her way of being in the world: irony, autonomy, and a freedom exercised without asking permission.

Mae West transformed wit into a public strategy by using it as tool of power and ambiguity. She wrote, produced, and starred in her own stories in a Hollywood monitored by censorship, constructing an erotic myth through words and insinuation. This defiant intelligence permeates the collection as a cultural framework: living intensely, upholding one’s own identity, and embracing desire as part of the discourse.

On the runway, this attitude translates into a fluid dialogue between tailoring and knitwear. Suits with wide-legged pleated trousers, harem pants, or pencil skirts coexist with bomber jackets and wool sweaters; Tartan, pinstripes, and cheviot are interwoven with ribbed knits, terry cloth, and lurex. Knit jumpsuits with plumeti tulle, cashmere coats, washable velvets, and suede fabrics appear, creating volume through shirt-style seams. Nearly invisible transparencies share space with micro-sequins, rhinestones, and feather-effect jacquards reminiscent of the 1930s, culminating in bridal gowns in white velvet and sequins.

The palette ranges from earthy browns and marbled hues, pale pink, and light blue, which are intensified by vibrant red, fuchsia, and intense orange; luminous green flows into deep navy, copper, and metallic hues, before the final, white. Production connects workshops in Caravaca de la Cruz, the Basque Country, and Madrid, integrating traditional knitwear, footwear, jewelry, and leather goods into a network that reinforces the fashion brand’s artisanal character.

Maison Mesa presents thus a season that understands fashion as a tool for personal affirmation. A fallen angel by choice who enjoys the journey.
