Fashion designer María Lafuente was granted the 2026 MMT Award in the Fashion category during a gala held in Maspalomas, as a part of MMT FEST 2026.
The award acknowledges her creative career, her commitment to sustainability, and her understanding of fashion as a space for conscious expression. The organization also highlighted the relationship her work establishes between design, art, and responsibility.
The awards ceremony took place in the Central Plaza of Yumbo Centrum, during a charity gala in benefit of the Isabel Gemio Foundation. Other recipients of this year’s award include Paloma San Basilio, Almudena Cid, Olga Viza, ITB Berlin, Camino Viejo Producciones, Plántalo.org, Restaurante Rincón del Arroz, and María José Suárez, among others.
Following the MMT Awards, María Lafuente participated in the MMT 2026 Fashion Show, the Music Meets Tourism festival’s official runway fashion show, together with other invited designers. The fashion show was a part of the MMT FEST program, which was held from June 10th to 14th in Maspalomas.
