Juan Vidal’s collectino inspired by Japanese architecture

21/03/2025

Juan Vidal presents his new “Kasa” collection at Madrid es Moda . A capsule collection comprised of seven dresses crafted from natural silk organza, with subtle Asian influences in the patterns. The collection seeks to highlight beauty through the simplicity of small details.

The dresses, devoid of trimmings such as zippers or buttons, are tied with small, flat bows made from the same matching organza in tone, thus accentuating the softness, lightness and traditional feel that defines the fashion proposal.

Vidal’s inspiration comes from Japanese architecture, a style noted for its harmony with nature and its focus on simplicity and functionality. One of the most representative elements of this architecture is its use of natural light, which enters softly and diffusely through large windows and sliding paper doors into the interior spaces, creating a warm atmosphere that highlights the beauty of natural materials.

Similarly, organza, with its ethereal and translucent nature, is capable of transforming the perception of the body just as light is capable of transforming the perception of a building. Thus, each dress acts as an architectural layer that plays with overlays, textures, and volumes, creating silhouettes that appear to float, as if they were spaces inhabited by light.
