Pedro del Hierro celebrates the firm's 50 years with the "Legend of Time"

The company Tendam Group presented a fabulous fashion show to commemorate the 50th anniversary of fashion brand Pedro del Hierro which was held in an exceptional location: the emblematic Corona de Espinas, a building by architects Fernando Higueras and Antonio Miró Valverde as well as the headquarters of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain.

More than 60 models, many of them very well known such as Marina Pérez, Madelaine Hjört, Vanesa Lorenzo, Verónica Blume, Lorena Durán, Judit Mascó, Mark Vanderloo or the couple formed by Oriol Elcacho and Davinia Peligrí, starred in a display of glamour and sophistication. created by the hand of Nacho Aguayo and Álex Miralles, creative directors of the women's and men's divisions respectively.

With a powerful staging of Andalusian and Spanish ambience, and a soundtrack with flamenco overtones –"The Legend of Time" is the title of a song by Camarón de la Isla–, the designers begin at the 1989/90 collection, the first men's and women's wear collection made by remembered fashion designer Pedro del Hierro. They present a succession of looks marked by contrasts and opposites: references to men's tailoring and Japanese volumes, and carnations as a wink to Spanish tradition, stylised polka dots and austere-looking torero-style jackets.

The leading fabrics are poplin, taffeta, moiré or ottoman, which are worked thoroughly in bold silhouettes and precise volumes that blur the boundaries between the masculine and the feminine.

As for menswear designs, the pieces are constructed to begin with as relaxed garments which play with proportions and displaced crossings continuing towards a more opulent and prejudice-free evening where the classic tuxedo is combined with playful transparencies, velvets and metallic effects.
