Exhibit by Miriam Ocariz in Bilbao

23/10/2018

Designer Miriam Ocariz opens next Thursday, October 25th, an exhibit of her works made since she began and some unpublished pieces created in 2018, in the Sala Rekalde in Bilbao.

This exhibition is a journey through the most intimate side of the creator, beyond fashion, with drawing as the fundamental element. The thread of the exhibit is colour, from white to black or red, passing through her favourite one, pink, and back again. Colours that encompass her own world, unique and peculiar. Each drawing shows an episode of her reality, an image of that landscape between fantasy and reality with which she manages to make the viewer participate in her emotions.

Papers and printed clothes, drawings in numerous variations, photographs, handkerchiefs, figurines, sculptures in ceramic and textiles, are some of the works that can be seen in Sala Rekalde in Bilbao (Alameda de Recalde, 30), from October 25th to February 3rd 2019.

Miriam Ocariz begins her career in fashion by printing her drawings on garments and fabrics. After participating for the first time in 1996 at Gaudí Runway, she decided to present her collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, receiving the award for the best young designer in 2002. Currently, her collections are sold in multi-brand stores in different countries of the world, highlighting her presence in Japan.
