SKFK launches its first FSC®-certified capsule collection: responsible fashion from the source

08/05/2025

Basque brand SKFK becomes a trailblazer in sustainable fashion with the launch of its first capsule collection certified by FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council), an organization that guarantees responsible forest management worldwide. This initiative positions SKFK as the first Spanish brand to join the Fashion Forever Green Pact, an international agreement promoted by FSC® that promotes the use of certified cellulosic fibers while actively combating deforestation and biodiversity loss.

More than just a fashion collection, this capsule represents a tangible commitment to fashion that respects both the environment and the people who make it possible. Each garment has been conceived holistically: fabrics developed from scratch in Spain (Textil Santanderina), production carried out in certified workshops in Portugal, and a complete and traceable chain of custody, endorsed by FSC® certification.

This comprehensive control process allows SKFK to design, develop, and manufacture each piece of fabric used in the collection with complete autonomy, ensuring high standards of quality and sustainability. As the brand states: “We don’t buy ready-made fabrics, but rather develop them from scratch to guarantee full control over their quality and sustainability.”

This reflects the brand’s values: identity, innovation, and responsibility.

  • Mendia Jacket: A reinterpretation of the traditional Basque kaiku, fusing cultural heritage with a contemporary aesthetic.
  • Zero Waste Dress: A garment designed to minimize textile waste while manufacturing, thus optimizing fabric use.
  • Geometric Pants: Stand out for their clean, structured lines, reflecting SKFK’s artistic and functional approach.

Each finish, color, and print has been carefully selected using responsible dyeing techniques, which aims to achieve a balance between creativity, authenticity, and functionality.

SKFK demonstrates with this collection that it is possible to create, from the source, fashion with a positive impact, by supporting a transparent, ethical, and planet-friendly value chain.
