Fashion: the last skin of civilization

The president of ACME, Modesto Lomba, participated in the seminar “Interpreting the present of the cultural product” organized by the Museo Picasso Málaga. In a presentation entitled “Fashion: the last skin of civilization” the designer reflected on the role of fashion as a cultural industry.

Fashion design experienced a noted approach to the world of culture from the nineteenth century onwards, when it began to be considered an element of sophistication very close to art. Since then, the dialogue between the two disciplines has been steadfast, with artists who experiment with fashion and designers who approach History of Art as a constant source of inspiration.

Modesto Lomba, also highlighted in his speech the entry of fashion in museums through successful exhibitions, as well as the various cultural projects developed by ACME in recent years.
