The documentary movie “The Echo of Other Voices,” directed by Adriana Domínguez, premiered on April 7th at the Reina Sofía National Art Centre Museum in Madrid. The documentary traces Adolfo Dominguez’s personal and professional path through his own testimony, and that of various people close to him. The premiere coincides with a moment of reflection regarding his legacy and is linked to the company’s 50th anniversary.
The movie begins in Trives (Ourense), where the family’s connection to the textile industry began, and continues through episodes such as his time in a prison during Franco’s regime, and his formative years in Paris. The narrative is constructed from an intimate perspective, marked by the bond between the documentary’s director and the subject.
The project is produced by the Adolfo Domínguez Foundation in collaboration with the Ourense Provincial Council. The film was previously screened in October 2024 at the Ourense Film Festival (OUFF) and is available on Amazon Prime.
The firm’s connection to the cultural sphere has been, since its foundation, a part of its history, running parallel to the designer’s creative work, which also includes writing and movies. A first-person narrative that opens itself to be viewed from other perspectives.
