Santiago de Compostela hosted the gala Awards “Galician of the Year”, an award created in 1990 by El Correo Gallego as an acknowledgement to Galician personalities from different professional fields. Among the winners in the 2014 edition are Adolfo Dominguez and daughters: Adriana, Valeria and Tiziana. It is an acknowledgement of the work and leadership demonstrated by each one in the different areas of the company.
This award is added to the numerous awards already achieved by Adolfo Dominguez through out his career. The most recent being the Premio Nacional de Moda of the Ministry of Industry which he received from the hands of Queen Letizia last June. Highlighted are also the “Lifetime Achievement ” awarded to the designer by Miami Fashion Week in recognition of his accomplishments in the world of fashion and ‘The Golden Needle’ by the Ministry of Culture of Spain, for his cultural contribution and artistic creation.
The designer and businessman Adolfo Dominguez took over the family business, a tailor shop created by his grandfather, converting it into a signature fashion label acknowledged globally.
