ULISES MERIDA’s store joins the celebration of the Día de la Ranas1, with the premiere of the play "Actresses" with costumes made by the fashion creator. The event was attended by Manuela Carmena, Mayoress of Madrid.
Legend has it that frogs lived at ease in the ponds that filled the Barrio de las Letras centuries ago. So traders celebrate their day with this original initiative to boost shopping in the area. Among the proposals launched during the last edition, highlighted is the one held in the new flagship of designer ULISES MÉRIDA, the staged reading of excerpts from the play "Actresses" before its debut in 2017. The manchego creator is also the author of the costumes of the actresses involved in the play: Ana Fernández, Ana Casas, Lucía Esteso, Deborah Izaguirre, Isabel Pintor, Rocío García Cano, Estefania Rocamora and Fran Arráez.
All of them wore designs created by ULISES MERIDA, protagonists from his collection "Luz", presented by the creator on February 17th at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid.
"Actresses" is an adaptation of the legendary film "Stage Door”, 1937. Written and directed by Nacho Hevia, the play will premiere in Madrid in March 2017.
