Charo Izquierdo, new director of Madrid Fashion Week

16/11/2016

IFEMA incorporates Charo Izquierdo as the new director of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. An excellent professional in fashion communication in our country, she embarks on a new stage at the head of Madrid’s Fashion Week, in substitution of Leonor Pérez-Pita, who has run the catwalk since its beginnings in 1985 and who now becomes a member of the MBFWM Advisory Committee.

For ACME this appointment comes at an ideal time. When global fashion begins to develop new formulas for the presentation of collections, the new directorate embarked by Fashion Week Madrid, faces not only the challenge of drawing a future strategy to consolidate the madrileño runway in the international calendar, but also a unique opportunity to become a pioneering platform that adapts to the needs required by current fashion industry.

The changes entailed by IFEMA in recent times confirm the commitment of the Madrid institutions, and especially the Community of Madrid and its President Cristina Cifuentes, towards Spanish fashion and the growth of what is now the most relevant fashion platform of our country.[:]
