Guillermina Baeza celebrated a career of four decades in Barcelona with a gathering at Gala restaurant, bringing together various voices connected to the brand’s history and to Spanish fashion.
The brand, founded by Guillermina Baeza in the 1980s, has cultivated a unique perspective on swimwear, understood from the outset as a fashion category with its own distinct identity. Its presence on runways such as Gaudí, 080 Barcelona Fashion, and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid has accompanied a path linked to design, manufacturing in Spain, and the Mediterranean imaginary.
Currently, under the creative direction of Belén Larruy, the brand continues to develop collections that engage with its archives, incorporating new techniques, silhouettes, and materials. This generational continuity is part of a story that has kept the Guillermina Baeza name firmly established in the Spanish and European swimwear sector.
The event, held on June 4th, featured the participation of photographer and art director, Manuel Outomuro; CEO of Guillermina Baeza, Belén Larruy,; son of the founder and CEO of the brand during the 1980s and 90s, Antonio Jorge Larruy; and Carlos Marant, who moderated the event. Elsa Anka also shared her vision of the company, while the closing remarks were delivered by the Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, Maria Eugènia Gay.
