ACME Participates in Key European Report Regarding the Future of Creative Fashion

15/01/2026

European fashion is at a crucial juncture, and the debate moves up to the institutional level. In this context, the European Fashion Alliance (EFA) has published a strategic report analyzing the structural needs of the creative fashion sector in Europe, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España, (ACME) has been proactively involved in this work since the beginning of this transnational alliance.

The document outlines a clear map of challenges and opportunities, highlighting key areas such as sustainability, innovation, education, communication, responsible consumption, and strengthening the value chain. Based on in-depth interviews with EFA members, as well as previous studies, the report formulates concrete recommendations for European institutions to provide the sector with stable frameworks, coherent policies, and tools tailored to the sector’s production realities.

ACME emphasizes that this report confirms a long-standing position: independent fashion needs structural support to remain competitive without giving up the creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural dimension that define it. EFA’s work is thus presented as a solid foundation for moving towards a fairer, more sustainable European ecosystem, aligned with independent designs’ true value.
