The Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España continues to grow with the addition of Alejandro de Miguel, Candelas y Felipa, and defloresyfloreros. With these three new members, ACME reaches 100 associates, thus expanding its representation of Spanish designer fashion. The three brands that have joined ACME, have diverse backgrounds and approaches within the field of designer fashion. Their projects encompass couture, the reinterpretation of textile heritage, and handcrafted footwear, all rooted in a direct connection to craft and meticulous production.
“Reaching 100 members is a tremendous joy and also a great responsibility. ACME is growing because Spanish designer fashion is alive, diverse, and has much to say through each brand’s craftsmanship, creativity, and identity. The arrival of Alejandro de Miguel, Candelas y Felipa, and defloresyfloreros broadens our shared vision: to champion a way of creating with time, discernment, and respect for those who make each garment possible,” states Juan Duyos, ACME’s President.
Pepa Bueno, Executive Director of ACME, points out that “this milestone reflects the maturity of an Association that has grown alongside the sector itself. Reaching 100 members is not just a number; it confirms that Spanish designer fashion needs spaces for representation and collaboration. At ACME, we will continue to support our brands in their challenges, defending the cultural and economic value of an industry built upon talent and craftsmanship.”
Alejandro de Miguel
Originally from the town Miguel Esteban, in Toledo, the Alejandro de Miguel brand specializes in creating bride, mother-of-the-bride, and guest dresses. A work that combines artisanal techniques with a contemporary design vision, paying special attention to pattern making, the selection of high-quality fabrics, and the meticulous crafting of each piece.
Throughout their history, their creations have been featured in New Year’s Eve TV broadcasts and have dressed the Spanish Royal Family.
“I am thrilled to join ACME. For me, it is a profound honor to belong to a community that embodies what I have always championed: excellence, rigor, and a passion for couture. Being part of this exciting space is an opportunity to continue promoting Spanish fashion, to preserve craftsmanship through designer garments made with soul, and to share my work surrounded by professionals whom I admire and respect,” mentioned the designer.
Candelas y Felipa
Candelas y Felipa was founded in 2014 by Maite Bustamante and Guillermo Román, mother and son. From their atelier in Alcázar de San Juan, Ciudad Real, they work in close collaboration with local artisans establishing a dialogue between tradition and innovation.
The brand reinterprets the textile and cultural heritage of La Mancha through its own unique language, paying close attention to volume, construction, and rich materials.
“Being part of ACME is another step in our brand’s history, as well as an opportunity to contribute to the future of Spanish fashion,” emphasizes Guillermo Román.
defloresyfloreros
defloresyfloreros is a handcrafted footwear brand founded and creatively directed by Paloma Moreno for the past 15 years. The company operates with a conscious and specialized production process, creating collections from approximately 150 carefully selected raw materials.
With seven flagship stores in Spain, the brand is also advancing in its international expansion, being present in markets such as Chile and Uruguay.
“Defending craftsmanship today is almost an act of resistance. At defloresyfloreros, we believe in the imperfect beauty of hand-made, in traditional crafts, and in the luxury of doing things with care and soul. That’s why this partnership with ACME is so meaningful,” states Paloma Moreno.
Founded in 1998 by Modesto Lomba, Jesús del Pozo, Elio Berhanyer, Antonio Pernas, Ángel Fernández Ovejero (Angel Schlesser), and Roberto Verino, ACME is a non-profit professional association currently chaired by Juan Duyos, with Ana Locking as vice-chair. The Association comprises 100 fashion designers from across Spain who participate in major local and global fashion shows and platforms, five partner institutions, and Amazon Fashion as a Benefactor.
Since its creation, ACME has worked to defend the interests of independent fashion brands providing tools to enhance their competitiveness. Its activities focus on promoting Spanish fashion in its economic and cultural dimensions, with initiatives linked to fashion design in its creative and commercial aspects, both within Spain as well as abroad.
