Custo Barcelona presents a new collection titled Wet Paint at NYFW. As if it were a new house, the Catalan fashion brand is renewed and paints a new future with this fashion show, with which it begins a new phase after joining Italian group Velmar.
Custo Barcelona’s proposal is highly emotional and honours female strength through experimental lines and volumes. The woman’s body can be seen through cuts and windows, created with subtly placed strips, as well as short and long sets that fill the collection for spring-summer 2020 with contrasts.
Modernity is the thread of next season’s fabrics. The most technical materials are mixed with others of ethnic inspiration, such as thick threaded jacquards in very bright colours, made by hand with old looms. White neoprene is a must, unifying the fashion proposals when combined with different elements, among which there is also colourful organza creating very original textures in the looks.
While the woman is the absolute protagonist of Wet Paint, and after several seasons without presenting a fashion proposal for men, Custo has showcased in this fashion show a part of the capsule collection for men. Colour is the main protagonist of the garments, among which highlighted are animal print sweatshirts and a selection of bathroom pieces made with technical fabrics.
