The catwalk is on the street

16/09/2015

The exhibit “The catwalk is on the street,” organized by ACME in collaboration with Destino Madrid, brings to Conde Duque a selection of the fall / winter 2015-2016 collections that 25 leading fashion brands from our country presented on the madrileño catwalks.

Fashion shows are one of the main communication tools of fashion brands which every six months prepare a spectacular staging of their creations. The catwalk becomes an essential element each season to bring to the public the creative universe of the designer. Spot lights and flashes are the beginning of a process that culminates in the street, where day after day parade anonymous people with garments presented on a catwalk months ago.

This exhibition, curated by Pepa Bueno, may be seen from 16th to 21st September in Conde Duque within the cycle of activities Madrid is Fashion, an initiative by ACME that completes the official schedule of fashion shows of MBFWM with the aim of bringing the fashion week closer to the city centre and to involve it in all the madrileños.

Discounts, special displays, artistic interventions, collaborations with hotels, and unique unions between fashion and gastronomy are just some of the activities included in a project that places its bets on fashion as one of the main tourist and cultural attractions of the capital.
