Mariano Moreno created exclusively the starring dress for Needs No Explanation, the launch campaign with which Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) presented the 2027 edition that will take place from April 14th to 18th at Fira de Barcelona (Montjuïc). The concept portrays a new generation of brides, which are freer, more urban, under the slogan “I don’t adapt; they adapt to me,” as explained by BBFW’s Director Albasarí Caro.
The designer, from Murcia, has developed a modular dress made up of six interchangeable pieces. It is designed to transform throughout the various stages of the celebration—shifting from a formal ceremonial design to shorter, airy versions—allowing some of the components to remain part of the bride’s wardrobe after the wedding. “We adapt the dress so the bride can change her look during the wedding,” explains Moreno.
The campaign was filmed at Barcelona locations such as Plaça del Rei and Barceloneta, featuring a color palette inspired by “Radiant Earth”; 2028’s color of the year, and an aesthetic that breaks away from conventional bridal imagery.
